ASU Historic Flagpole Restoration

The Historic Flagstaff at Augusta State University is a contributing resource to the Summerville Historic District as it was fabricated for the Historic Augusta Arsenal in 1897 and installed 1900. The scope of work for restoring this landmark involved reinforcing the sub-grade anchoring, repairing the steel coupling, and replacing the standing rigging, tension rods, turnbuckles, gasketing, surface-mounted lighting, and gilded ball ornament.
