There's something you don't see every day... check out this wood-framed radius wall that will form the reception area backdrop at @augplastic new office in Columbia County. #radiuswall #construction #architectureofaugusta #2kmarchitects
We think the variety of spaces in our historic office are pretty cool, but hands down one room stands above the rest. The Roses Room has intricate floral plasterwork that frames three original muse murals. It is unclear as to why, but one wall panel was left empty so we sought the expertise of local artist Donna Whaley to help finish off space. Her muse depiction (shown last) accomplishes that perfectly! #localartist #mural #historichome #architecture #2kmarchitects
Say whaaaat?! Augusta, GA woke up to its first snow day of the season and we LOVED it! Hey if it’s going to be this cold we might at least get some snow!😉❄️ #architecture #snow #winter #augusta #2kmarchitects

The Miller Theater had its first opening night back in 1940 and stayed a huge success for forty years. Sadly, in 1984, the theater shut down. It was not until 2005 that Augusta's businessman and philanthropist Peter Knox IV bought it with the idea of restoring it. Three years later, Mr. Knox offered the Miller Theater to the Symphony Orchestra of Augusta and in September 2011 the Symphony Board of Directors voted unanimously to accept control of the Theater. Shortly after, 2KM was commissioned to join the design team to restore the building. On January 6, 2018, the Miller Theater held its second opening night to a sold out crowd. We at 2KM are incredibly proud to have worked alongside incredible people and contributed our services to make the renovation possible. Now it's time for every one of us to support the artists, thespians, and musicians that make up our talent-rich city by catching a show at this local landmark! #architecture #2kmarchitects #soa #augusta #art #theater #symphony #millertheater

Construction has started on a really exciting project of ours in Columbia County. We're hoping the unique angles in this combination Clinic and Surgery Center will turn some heads 👀 #architectureofaugusta #newconstruction #2kmarchitects
Crews are working late into the night to finish installing the lettering and lighting on the @millertheater marquee sign. The sign will be lit for the first time in over 30 years this Friday night at #artsintheheart! Be there or be ◼ #2kmarchitects #historicpreservation
One of the many services offered by 2KM is master planning. Together with the Georgia Department of Veterans Service, we are working on several renovation and new construction projects that will continue to transform their Milledgeville Campus. This image illustrates one of the newly proposed buildings, a 14 bed Sub-Acute Therapy Unit. #2kmarchitects #masterplanning #GDVS
Kicking off the weekend with a little fun in the sun! Luckily a couple 2KMers got together to make these custom cornhole boards for the team to enjoy. #2kmarchitects #workhardplayhard
When we were asked to create a 3D model of 699 Broad St. for a new study, we enlisted the help of a drone to map out the building. We thought it was a better alternative to getting accurate measurements than repelling off the roof or hiring spider man for the job. Thanks for the pictures @bataero ! #architectureofaugusta #dronefootage #pointclouds #newtechnology #2kmarchitects
The Arsenal Guardhouse Matters! Built in 1866, this structure served the Augusta Arsenal for nearly a century. In 2001, 2KM was tasked with: rebuilding the masonry crenellations; restoring the original flooring, porch, windows, and brick walls; replacing the roof; and updating the building systems for modern use. Upon completion, we happily accepted a Historic Preservation Award for our efforts restoring the landmark building. Today it serves as a Museum, giving visitors a glimpse into this area’s past. #thisplacematters #2kmarchitects #architectureofaugusta #historicrestoration #augustauniversity #meganthemodel
The Miller Theater Matters! At the time it was built in 1938, this Art Moderne theater was unique to the state of Georgia. It sat 1600 patrons and hosted traveling shows from around the country. The theater closed in 1984, and the building sat vacant for over 20 years before a local philanthropist bought the property with intentions to renovate. Fast forward to today, construction is well underway, and 2KM is counting down the months until we are finally able to hand this local landmark back to its new owner, the Symphony Orchestra of Augusta! Seven months away Augusta, get excited! #thisplacematters #2kmarchitects #architectureofaugusta #millertheater
The Phinizy House Matters! The original building is over 150 years old and many additions have been added over time. It has served as the home of former Augusta Mayor Jacob Phinizy and then as the Poteet Funeral Home. When it was added to Historic Augusta’s Endangered Properties List in 2010, we acted fast to acquire the property and turn it into our new office. The beautiful Second Empire building is enjoying great success in its third life, and we intend to preserve it for the next generation. #thisplacematters #historicaugusta #architectureofaugusta #2kmarchitects
Hope everyone has recovered from the whirlwind that was Masters week in Augusta. Our city is fortunate to have many great golf courses, not just the Augusta National. Pictured here is the entry of #ForestHillsGolfClub, which 2KM completed renovations on four years ago this month. #golfclubhouse #architectureofaugusta #renovation #2kmarchitects
